Dr. Adisa Alawode is an accomplished architectural educator, researcher, and practicing architect with specialized expertise in sustainable building design and net-zero energy performance. In addition to architectural practice, he concurrently serves as a Sessional Lecturer at Melbourne School of Design, University of Melbourne.
Dr. Alawode holds a PhD in Built Environment from RMIT University focusing on net-zero energy performance in high-rise residential buildings, an MSc degree from the National University of Singapore, and a Master of Architecture degree from Obafemi Awolowo University. His research expertise encompasses sustainable building design, building performance optimization, and climate-responsive architecture.
With over 15 years of professional experience in senior architectural roles, his project portfolio spans residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments across Australia and Singapore, emphasizing sustainable design solutions and building performance analysis.
Dr. Alawode's research contributions have been published in leading journals including Solar Energy and presented at international conferences. He serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Materials Circular Economy and maintains active memberships in the International Solar Energy Society, International Building Performance Association, and the Architectural Science Association. His technical expertise in building performance simulation and energy modeling, combined with his commitment to bridging academia and practice, positions him to contribute valuable insights to the sustainable building field.

Dr Diana Mohd Nasir serves as the Researcher under the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering with an extensive interdisciplinary portfolio with industry and academia, emphasising sustainable and net-zero carbon energy innovation for the built environment. She has 11 years of experience in academia with engineering design, sustainable energy and project/model-based research expertise, 5 years as a technical staff in building and engineering construction industry and 6 years as architectural entrepreneur/freelancer. She has authored more than 20 publications, particularly research articles in high-impact journals and presented in more than 15 local and international conferences. She has a Google Scholar citation of 602 with H-index of 14 and i-10 index of 14 and is ranked in the top 27.09% H-Index world scientist in Alper-Doger (AD) Scientific Index 2025. She holds professional affiliations such as MIET, Professional Technologist and Architectural Technologist and actively contributes to journal editorial boards, advisory committees and local/international conferences. These support her position as an authority in sustainable built environment engineering research.

Dr Ing Liang Wong is currently Senior Lecturer at Glasgow Caledonian University and previously worked in EPSRC project at Warwick University. He gained his PhD in passive solar energy for building application from Ulster University in 2008. Prior to his PhD studies, he worked as construction contract consultant in international construction companies. His research is cross-disciplinary, covering a range of topics in building energy studies, such as sustainable and energy efficient building designs with expertise in innovative building envelope and daylighting design, building energy benchmarking and energy policy, hybrid renewable energy systems and life cycle assessment. He has secured multiple external research grants and worked in international research projects with colleagues in Kenya, Taiwan and Brazil.
Dr. Xiang Zhang

Dr. Xiang (Jason) Zhang is an Assistant Professor with a joint appointment of The Design School and School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment at Arizona State University (ASU). Dr. Zhang holds The Design School (TDS) Energy and Sustainability Professorship from 2025-2028. Dr. Zhang is currently leading Subtask 2.2 of the International Energy Agency (IEA) EBC Annex-94 project. He is also serving as a board member of the International Association of Building Physics (IABP) for the 2024–2027 term.
Dr. Zhang was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) and worked on the U.S. Department of Energy ARPA-E HESTIA program. He earned his Ph.D. from KU Leuven in Belgium, where he was a fully funded doctoral researcher for the International Energy Agency (IEA) EBC Annex-71 project. Prior to his time at KU Leuven, he conducted research at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech), among other institutions.
His recent research focuses on three main domains: 1) Data-driven building energy performance characterization and predictive control; 2) Building energy and BIPV (building-integrated photovoltaics) simulation; and 3) Sustainable & green building rating systems. Dr. Zhang's recent research findings have been published in highly regarded international journals, such as Applied Energy, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Journal of Cleaner Production, and Building and Environment, among others. Meanwhile, his research was honored with the prestigious Best Paper Award at the 5th International Conference on Building Energy and Environment COBEE 2022, held in Montreal, Canada.
Dr. Shenghuan Zhao

Dr. Shenghuan (Enzo) ZHAO is an Assistant Professor of Architectural Technology at UCSI University and a certified LEED AP BD+C professional. He received his PhD from Politecnico di Milano in 2020, specializing in sustainable building technologies and adaptive architectural systems. Dr. Zhao’s research integrates digital twin environments, BIM-IoT frameworks, and AI-enhanced design tools to advance sustainability performance in the built environment. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, with over ten WoS-indexed articles, and actively contributes as a reviewer and editorial board member for Sustainable Buildings, and Journal of Integrated Design and Process Science. His work bridges computational design, climate-responsive architecture, and occupant behaviors, reflecting a holistic vision for future-oriented, low-impact design strategies.
